Ever ask questions with really unexpected answers? I was talking to a young lady and her husband about worship at Providence Reformed PCA. When I said the word “liturgy,” I thought, “I wonder if she knows what that word means. Maybe I should have used a different word.” Somehow we got off onto Dr. Collins, which led to a discussion on his plant in Washington. She said, “My dad is in that presbytery.” I asked, “Who is your dad?” She replied, “Rob Rayburn.” I just started laughing because I immediately thought back to how I wondered if she knew what the word liturgy meant. I never explained why I was laughing.

I also saw a guy that looked familiar. We started talking, trying to find the missing link. We went from his car being broken down in Monroe, to our mutual friend John Amos, to both living in Jackson…finally he mentioned the church he attended in Jackson. Turns out that I had been at his house for a to eat pizza and play some board games about three years ago. I knew he looked familiar :  :

Tomorrow I am going to try to check out the arch. This stay gets better and better. I really enjoyed Dr. Doriani’s class, and I can’t wait to sit in on Dr. Collins “Psalms and Wisdom Literature” class tomorrow.

I ended up finding out Rachel used to be a member of Dr. Collins congregation (Rachel sometimes posts in Sensus Plenior). All sorts of weird connections. I am going to go eat at the RUF house in about 20 minutes, so I should scoot.
