Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.- James 2:24

I was singing The Sands of Time Are Sinking are sinking today. Two things…

The king there in His beauty
Without a veil is seen
It were a well-spent journey
Though sev’n deaths lay between
The Lamb with His fair army
Doth on Mount Zion stand
And glory, glory dwelleth
In Emmanuel’s land

What is this sev’n deaths business?

The bride eyes not her garment
But her dear bride-groom’s face
I will not gaze at glory
But on my King of grace
Not at the crown He giveth
But on His pierced hand
The Lamb is all the glory
Of Emmanuel’s land

That’s my favorite verse in all of hymnody.

We have thirty graduate assisstants in my program. I am one of three teaching assisstants (I have my own section). I am also younger than anyone else in the program by two years. I have some older students mad at me for that…that and I am a Christian. Sometimes this school can be frustrating. Out of the three TA’s, all profess Christ. One of them is a Charasmatic that claims to see visions. The other is an apostolic (i.e. non-trinitarian modalist). The third is me–that rabid, intolerant guy. None of the other graduate assisstants will claim to be Christian, though some have been baptized. Okay, so I am in one of those moods. I should get to class. I got to sub today for an upper level class, and my major advisor just asked me today if I would like to teach part of the 17th century course. Okay, so there are good things…but how will I be able to study for comps? Less online time? Nah…
