Sex, ears, and something else
I had a chance to shuffle through Credenda Agenda this weekend. It has a few great articles. The first was on hearing the Word corporately rather than reading it. Many have asked me why I don’t read along when the Word is read in the Sunday service. Leithart does a great job of summarizing the argument.
Last week I was also trying to convince Kristen that there was sex in heaven. Then all of a sudden, bam, Doug Wilson and Doug Jones write articles on it. Read em. Even if you don’t agree, it’s fun to think about it.
And there was also this really great article, but I can’t remember what it was about
I am?
According to someone searching around on google, “Rachel Eyre is so hot.” Who entered those keywords into the search engine? Well, anyway… thanks!
Psalm 103
Amen!
By the age of 18, a young woman’s body is well prepared for childbearing.
Oh yeah, you know what I’m talkin’ about.
I’m not really that moderate
I am trying to figure out why I only scored moderate on narcissistic and histrionic. I should have gotten high (oh yeah, I am high) on both of those. Especially histrionic. I don’t think these personality test things are very accurate.
More on NT Wright
Before I go begin my perfect day, I will leave you with an excerpt from Sidney Dyer’s article in Greenville Seminary: Katekomen:
“A major problem with Wright is that, if he does hold to Christ’s vicarious atonement, he believes Christ died for and will save all men. He argues that
‘the covenant between God and israel was always designed to be God’s means of saving the whole world. It was never suposed to be the means whereby God would have a private little group of people who would be saved while the rest of the world went to hell (whatever you might mean by that)’([What St. Paul Really Said] 163).
Thus is would appear that Wright is a universalist in the fullest sense of the term. His denial of eternal punishment shows that he has a lax view of sin and that he believes God does as well.”
This is going to be a good day.
For the first time in a long time, I have absolutely nothing to do today. Well, I have a stack of sixty papers to grade, but I am not doing it. I am going to go to a little Octoberfest in Bluewater Bay, which I think is in the parking lot of Winn Dixie, so it can’t possibly be anything good. And then I am going to do nothing but talk on the phone and read my Bible. I am finishing up my studies in Samuel, and I am moving on the Kings. Reluctantly. I will still be playing with Samuel for awhile I am sure. I am going to call all my family in New York. I am going to sit on my beach. I am going to get a tan as I read my Bible. And I am going to just soak up the sun. It better not rain.
