The world makes me giggle

So, today, I drive over to the music store to teach a lesson. Then, I go to the post office. Then, I come home.

You all were probably expecting some kind of punchline, I suppose. Oh well.

I think I need to rejoin AAPC, so I can afford the Pastor’s conference this year. Eek.

Focusing on the elements
Sometimes, if the bread is old, or if the wine is cheap, it’s hard not to focus on the elements in the Lord’s Supper.

*snigggle*
I met the coolest dog last night, Oreo. He’s a Boston Terrier that watched Spiderman on my lap. That little thing can jump from the ground into a truck bed and has been known to jump into truck windows rolled halfway up when it rains. It’s quite amazing. He also likes to kill squirrels and pass gas during elder meetings…which makes the elders a bit uncomfortable.

Why Am I Presbyterian?
Sometimes I ask myself why I am presbyterian. Yesterday I attended St. Paul ELCA. The sermon “Church Militant-Church Triumphant” was even good. I was miserable going to my church after such a beautiful worship service. Sometimes it’s just frustrating going to church with people that have no concept of where you are coming from. Don’t get me wrong. I have major doctrinal issues with the ELCA, LCMS, ECUSA, and all those other places that have good worship (I’d say the ELCA is best in Niceville.). But…man…I feel so wooden and whitewalled when I go to my church. I normally go to the ECUSA church on Sunday mornings, and I am an active part of that body, so I don’t think I should leave just for a better worship service. But…but…ugh. I talked to Dr. Jordan after worship, and I mentioned some how the ELCA church really made me said to be presbyterian. He said, “Yeah,” nodded knowingly and repeated “Yeah” with a bit lip. Yeah…
