I just lost an entire post.
Here’s basically what I wrote about:
Conference at Christ Church, Spokane. It was wonderful. Definitely a learning experience. Jeff Meyers’ lectures on covenant renewal worship were excellent. He said so many quotable things, like: “Everything you do in life is a ritual. Try love-making without it being a ritual. Love-making is more than a physical thing… love-making is… wait a second! I’m gonna get myself into trouble! This isn’t in my notes!” Also, in reference to the Lord’s Supper, “We’re supposed to taste and see that the Lord is good….we shouldn’t be tasting and seeing that He’s stale,” followed later by, “And what are those little wafers that taste like styrofoam? It’s like you put it in your mouth and it melts, and you’re like, ‘what happened to it? Where’d it go?’” (Obviously these are all paraphrases.)
Yes, it’s been a good weekend, accompanied always by little sorrows and mistakes and things that just didn’t go just perfectly… but all those things just make us understand ourselves and Christ better.
