Rick pretty much summed up my thoughts of the trip. I enjoyed some of it, and was annoyed with the rest. It was worth going, of course. Emeth is always worth going to visit. It’s strange, though, to realize how un-Americanized she and her brother Ben are. That was mostly discovered as Rick, Emeth, and I all helped Ben do some grocery shopping for himself. If the Smiths represent Japan accurately on their dietary habits, Japan is much more health-food crazy than we are. Not that America has been accused of that lately.

Rachel, Tim, and I took a short trip to Moscow to visit Emeth. It’s always interesting to go to Moscow. I have strong feelings against Moscow Pride. I guess that’s nothing new to my readers. However, this trip was…okay. I didn’t spend much time around any of the “Moscow crowd.” One time I did spend time chatting with Muscovites. It was pretty frustrating. In fact, it caused Rachel to lean over to me and utter, “If I had to live here, I would shoot myself. One day is driving me crazy.” I can only stomach Moscowism for so long:
“NSA is the only school that isn’t apostate.”
“I used to attend X seminary in X state, but I’m at Greyfriars because the seminary system is unbiblical.”
“John Frame is whack; he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”
“No, I don’t use starch; I’m just stiff.”
I don’t want to come off as bashing these people, but I don’t know where they come off with saying some of the things they say.
Um…yeah. Fortunately, there are some people there I like, although most of them are old friends from the South. I spent some time with Jon and Hollie (Monroe, LA, natives) as well as Katherine (Lafayette, LA) and Uriah Gunn (Virginian). Oddly, Texan Gabe kept up ending up where we were…or perhaps it was the other way around since one of the times he “met up with us” was when we were watching Katherine’s wedding video at Gabe’s house. North Carolingian Jake, over at Runroar, was attending his first few classes at NSA.
I met Isaiah’s roommate. Ian’s pretty cool.
Redhead Rij is great, and it’s always nice to talk to her. I’d link her if I wasn’t so lazy. Hey, she’s on the sidebar, okay. Rijel has perfectly manicured toes. She owns lots of shoes and gets pedicures. I mean, if I hadn’t taken the name, she would have probably tried to get “Beautiful Feet”. Rijel, foot, they’re almost synonyms.
Okay, I am rambling becaue I am tired. Maybe I will post when I am coherent.
