Tim went with me to Salem Lutheran tonight for the Holden Evening Service. I always enjoy the Holden Evening Service. It’s a wonderful service to sing. I’d have to say Tim enjoyed it quite a bit also.
One thing I love about Lutheran preaching is the Christ-centeredness and the Cross-centeredness. Everything goes back to Christ and the Cross. Today’s “sermon” was on Psalm 146.
The way Lutherans talk also makes me much more comfortable than Presbyterians. In a prayer, “Father, renew us in our baptisms each day.”
In the sermon, “The only people that can really understand this are those that have passed through death. Only after you have died will you be able to fully understand this passage. And friends, we have died in our baptism, and we are resurrected daily by faith.”
