If I were a horse farm owner and on that farm a horse stepped in a groundhog hole & broke it’s leg, I suppose I’d dispose of the groundhog (as humanely as possible). So, don’t misunderstand…I can understand killing pests-or, preferrably, getting rid of them some other way. But I also know that people are cruel and enjoy killing sometimes.

The damage to wildlife caused by cats is huge. I’d have some trepidations about killing somebody’s pet, and one of the hard things about cats is that a lot of “feral” cats are semi-pets, so one often can’t be sure one isn’t killing off someone else’s property. But I don’t have any complaints about people wanting to protect their own property from vermin, which is what cats sometimes become. Dogs too, for that matter. It’s too bad some humans are so irresponsible with their pets.
