Today is Mr. and Mrs. Eyres 25th wedding anniversary. Rachels parents are out of home tonight. Thus, this also happens to be the first night that Ive spent at home in over six weeks. Now, a night at home might not be so bad if I had a more inviting home. But the most inviting thing about my home was the fork with the green strawberry tops stuck to it. Yes, the stems that stuck two inches to the sides and an inch off the top, making the exquisite forktree. Rachel got rid of that for me, that and the mug with the mucus stalactite hanging from it. The only noises are humming of the refrigerator motor and my dripping sink. The only light coming off this laptop. The light in my bedroom is burned out. Ive dragged a mattress into the kitchen, and here I sprawl; I can do no other.
I spent five hours looking for a biography to read. I ended up with a book on one womans struggle with bulimia. scratches head She has a nice writing style anyway, though Ive only gotten as far as her talking about a twitch in her rectum (which has been the last eight pages, but I swear its interesting). I also got a book on Cassie Bernall; it was on sale really cheap.
I picked up Tim Eaton after her got off work, and after taking him home to change, we went to Carl Jr.s. I tried their guacamole bacon burger. It wasnt too good. We checked our emails on my wireless signal in my car. And here I am, back at home.
Im amazed at how lonely I feel, how accustomed Ive become to having my schnugglebunny by my side. I have nothing left to distract me from the fact that shes not around. It was too late to rent a movie by the time I got home, or else I would have rented Kill Bill. Oh well, Im gonna go dream about her. May 1, 2004On Thursday I read Misty Bernalls biography of her daughter Cassie, She said, Yes. It wasnt written very well, but it was somewhat interesting, and I finished it by lunchtime. After lunch, I went to a park near a government school and started reading Jenny Laurens Homesick, memoirs of her anorexic and bulimic days. It was a bright sunny day. An eight year old and a twelve year old smoked pot in the distance. A girl screamed at a guy because he hadnt called another girl. He said he couldnt afford to call her. A goofy looking kid on a skateboard walked up to him, and started yelling, How f—-ing hard is it to walk up to someone and grab their wallet, huh? I got this [skateboard] at the mall. I got this helmet at the mall. My shoes and jeans are from the mall. This shirt is from the mall. This is from the mall (as he pulls up his shirt to reveal his belt). Its not f—-ing hard. I left about forty F words out of his short paragraph. Rachel and Evie met me at the park with chicken parmigiana that I ate with my fingers right there. We went to McDonalds and ordered ice cream cones. We ran over to Walgreens to get sunscreen and batteries for the honeymoon, and then we went over to Value Village where Rachel bought a skirt and a summer dress. After that, we went to choir practice and left early. We walked from the church to McDonalds on Indiana where we had left Rachels dads car, (Evie had taken our car to Rebekah and Forrests already) and we drove to the Tuckers house. We stayed there talking until it was time to leave.
After sleeping a few hours after work, I met Rachel and Evie at Kay Jewelers. Rachel bought my wedding band, and we had some Chinese food before going back to her house for Esthers 5th birthday. I played with sparklers.
May 1, 2004in the afternoon
I just had a really odd dream. I was attending Good Shepherd REC in Tyler, TX. After the sermon, when we took Holy Communion by station, I brought up an offering plate with food on it. After I received the bread, I got on my back and ate my food, and smiled really big in some sort of infantile way. I finally got back to my seat, and I was a row behind the guy who I was sitting next to before I had communion. (The guy was a friend, but I cant remember who it was.) He turned around, and he was like, Didnt you go before me? A guy from Colorado named James Thomas, whom Ive met once or twice, was named James Dean in my dream, and he sat on the end of my new row, whispering something dark and probably evil. All of a sudden, the pastor of the church thats accusing Rachel of heresy stood up and started making announcements. He announced that the Lockharts, a family in the back row that filled up a whole pew with white, blond, and red-haired kids below sixteen, had to go home because they were sick. The pastor (who was simply an elder at the RE church) told James Dean to make sure they left soon, and Dean made it clear that theyd leave immediately. Then the pastor said it was the peace and told everyone to get his or her life story into his or her head to explain it each and every person. And then one of the elders that is accusing Rachel of heresy stood up next to the pastor accusing her of heresy as the pastor (who was now just an elderoddly enough in an RE church) explained that we should all be happy that they had been winning the battle against baptismal efficacy. I just sat in my pew, stunned and wondering how he had gotten a congregation of Episcopals to believe the doctrine was heresy. Uh, then I woke up.

Rachel had her bridal shower today (well, yesterdayits 1 AM right now). She received some lingerie and we got a few giftstowels, a griddle, a scrapbook, some canisters, glasses, flutes, goblets, and a few other things. We have absolutely no kitchen utensils outside of our measuring cups. Thats kinda depressing. Ryan and Taneisha gave us the canisters, and they filled them with candySwedish fish, Chocolate/Peanut butter buttercups, Hersheys with Almonds, and Crme Savers. Swedish fish are the best. Hersheys with Almonds are the best chocolate. Works for me.
We’re really busy, but I hope to blog some tonight or tomorrow. Actually, maybe I’ll just post some journal entries tonight to update y’all. I have a lot to say, and maybe I’ll be able to put it into words sometime soon.
