Kyrie Eleison

Well, we went in to the ultrasound today. Our baby is a little petite but perfectly healthy. We got to see all the chambers of the heart, the spine, and a bunch of other cool stuff. We also got to find out the sex of the baby. I told the nurse, before the doctor had come in, that I would be surprised if it turned out to be a boy. I’ve had this feeling all along that it’s a girl. When the doctor came in, he asked us what we wanted. I said, “I don’t wanna say yet” because I wanted to see what he determined first. Then he said it was a GIRL! I then told him that I’d been having that feeling all along, and he said he usually goes with the mom’s feelings unless he distinctly sees otherwise in the ultrasound. It was clear to me that it was a little girl. :)

Happy Birthday, Esther

Yesterday, April 30th, was Esther’s birthday. A year ago yesterday, Rachel had just told the session of her church that she couldn’t meet because it might be the last birthday she would get to spend with her for a long time. We miss Esther, and we’ll probably kidnap her one day, but until then, happy belated birthday Esther.
