Interesting.

Bono explicitly confesses Christ.

While I don’t agree with all of Bono’s leanings, I’ve often thought that people like Bono understand the faith so much better than the Christianity that gets offended because someone uses obscene language.

ELF

I must be anal, but I was getting really annoyed while I was watching Headcases tonight, and they kept on talking about the “Environmental Liberation Front.” ELF is the “Earth Liberation Front.” Just had to get that out. Idiots.

Hm

I am pretty sure that the only people that read this blog anymore are pregnant women.

Librarything.com

While I am loving librarything.com, there are just so many books to catalogue. I’m sitting in my work office with a five page list of ISBNs to enter and cases left. Ugh.

More Pregnancy Stuff (I know you’re getting sick of this too!)

The average first time mom goes 8 days past her due date. That makes me feel better somehow. Rick was actually saying yesterday that it would be great if Kyrie was born this Saturday (that’s 9 days past my due date) because then there wouldn’t be a time when I had to be left alone at home to take care of things on my own (since my sister and brother-in-law are coming in then). The reason that my midwife was thinking I might not last until my due date before was because Kyrie had dropped when I was 35 weeks. But by 37 weeks, she was floating again. So that’s that. I guess she decided she wanted a little extra time.

St. Thomas again

We went to St. Thomas Episcopal today because I didn’t think I could handle all the women at Covenant asking questions like, “How are you feeling? Still no baby? When do you think she’ll come? When’s your next appointment? Are you okay? Is it so miserable for you in this heat? Are you feeling uncomfortable?” AHHH! You get the point. It’s like the only thing people see about me anymore is that I’m pregnant. I’m starting to view myself that way too. But anyway, I am starting to enjoy the service there and I really like the priest. He always makes sure to give Kyrie a blessing at the communion rail and gives me a hug after the service. He jokingly said to us, “So you came back for more wafer dancing, huh?” :-) Anyway, we’ll probably go there next Sunday too. I am SO SO SO excited because this weekend Forrest and Rebekah and my adorable nephews are driving down to visit with us for a couple of weeks. I want the baby to be born by then, but even if she isn’t, I don’t care! I just want them to be here and hang out with us. They should be here around dinner time on Saturday. That’s only 6 days away. I’m going to occupy most of these next few days with lots of walking, walking, walking … anything to help bring Kyrie out. At this rate, she’s not going to be such a tiny baby by the time she enters the world.

I think I’m gonna need therapy before we leave Monroe

Last night I saw the biggest spider I have EVER seen in my life. It was like the size of my hand. And when it walked, it bounced. I seriously thought it was a tarantula when I looked at it from a distance, but I think it was actually bigger yet less furry. I screamed with terror and my hero husband smashed it with a shoe. I never thought I’d encounter something here that freaked me out more than a cockroach. I was wrong.

*sigh*

Well, today is my due date and I’m still pregnant. To top it off, I’ve returned to a bit of the first trimester sickness (throwing up the past two mornings), and although some people say that’s a sign of impending labor, I’ve got my doubts. :) I’m at least encouraged by the fact that these past two weeks have gone by relatively quickly and this HAS to end soon. Keep praying!

Ralphie

Conan O’Brien was joking about a new NBC movie about Katrina. He said, Ralph Wiggum was playing George W. Bush. I have only three things to say about that:

1. “I glued my head to my shoulder!”

2. “It tastes like burning!”

3. “Me fail English? That’s unpossible.”

Almost There

I had an appointment yesterday and was checked to see if I was progressing at all. Apparently I’m at about 3 cm and 70-80% effaced. That’s pretty encouraging, especially considering the fact that it took no pain to get to that point. Little Kyrie had turned posterior again, which may be the reason I haven’t gone into labor already. I think she might have turned anterior since yesterday (or it may just be wishful thinking), but either way, it should be pretty soon now. 2 days until my official due date.
