Baby Kyrie

Well, we’re finally home. For those of you who haven’t heard, we ended up transporting to the hospital (kinda ironic after all those comments!) because Kyrie’s head was hyper-extended…basically, her chin was tucked so far into her chest that the back of her neck was presenting. I pushed for over 2 hours at home before I told the midwife that I thought something was wrong and she checked me and found out why things weren’t progressing. I asked to go to the hospital and she agreed that it was a good idea. I kept thinking about what that nurse had said (that I’d definitely need a c-section) and was fearing that it would be true. But thankfully, we have an awesome doctor who encouraged me once we got to the hospital and said I’d definitely be able to do it without a c-section. So after an epidural so that I could sleep, I pushed for another 2 hours and she was finally born at 7:15 pm. My midwife did an awesome job and I have no hesitation about trying a homebirth next time. I’ll blog better details and fill in some of the blanks later. But thanks for all your prayers. Pictures will be coming soon.
