Life, or something like it.

So school started today. I’ve been working nonstop since I arrived here at the school, and with my first break, I thought I’d blog. I have a night class in fifteen minutes. Phew.

We’ve either been guests in someone’s house or had guests at our house for the past six weeks. We spent four weeks in Spokane. Then we spent one back in Monroe during the AAPC pastor’s conference where we hosted a guest from Dallas.

On the last day of that conference, we drove to Birmingham for the Anglican Mission in America’s Winter Conference 2006. We stayed with Rich and Jenny Lusk. It was good to catch up, and I’m excited about a few books that Rich is working on. The AMiA Winter Conference was very uplifting and a little disappointing at others. The opening service was three hours long. Archbishop Kolini said he wanted us to feel like we were in Africa…ha. Ron Sylvia and Jon Schuler had a few really good lectures on church planting.

We arrived home on Sunday night, and well, we didn’t go home. We went over to Matt Wilkins’ house to watch 24 that he had TiVo’ed. The first 20 minutes of the season were awesome. I’m glad we got four hours in two days.

In my 102 class this morning, I started with Shakespeare. About halfway through the class, I realized I picked about five of the most depressing Shakespeare passages. I urged my students not to kill themselves. :-/

Well, I gotta get back to work.

You can never take too many pictures…

I feel so married and motherly

Usually Rick and I do grocery shopping together. It just makes the most sense because we’re a one car family and he’s usually home from work in the early afternoon. So when he gets home, we just go together. But his schedule is a little different this semester and Tuesdays are his full days. He’s gone from 11 to 7, just like a real job … so I dropped him off this morning and headed to the library with Kyrie. There really wasn’t anything there worth checking out, so after I browsed around for a while I left to go shopping at Walmart. Crazy as it sounds, that was the first time since I’ve been married that I’ve done actual grocery shopping alone. It made me feel officially married. It made me feel like I had a family that I took care of. Kyrie was the perfect little shopper the whole time, not even making the slightest peep. Then I drove home, waiting for several minutes in the crazy ULM campus traffic (it is the firt day of classes), and put the groceries away. Now I’d better go do some laundry. *sigh* I am officially Mrs. Capezza. :)
