Love…

Love is waking up every morning and kissing a 24 inch girl.

Update: I like kissing the one with the 24 inch waist also.

A Jarring Shift

I was listening to Matisyahu’s “Jerusalem” on Itunes, and the next song that came on was the “Bartered Bride Overture” from the Baby Einstein CD. It was disconcerting.

Kyrie pics again

The reason we haven’t posted many pics is because our computer at home has given up the ghost. So until we get a new computer, I can only post from work.

A.I. is a snoozefest

Well, I’m pretty bored with A.I. this year. Chris stands out above everyone, in my humble opinion.

Anyone catch how Paula offended Mandisa? Mandisa sang a gospel song. She was really trying to glorify God. When it was over, Paula said something along the lines of “I think you started a new religion, the Church of Mandisa.” Mandisa started shaking her head, obviously upset that Paula said that.

Then Simon says her performance was self-indulgent, and then Ryan makes another comment about joining the Church of Mandisa. You could tell she was so flustered that she didn’t know what to say. Gotta love Hollywood.

My mom’s cruise

Well, you probably heard about the cruise boat that caught on fire. Well my mom just got back from a cruise, and she said that was the boat docked next to theirs in Jamaica. People were coming off the boat saying it was on fire. Ha.

She also said they picked up 28 Cubans in the sea that were trying to escape Cuba and returned them to Cuba. Sounds like fun.

She also went to Hell, a town in the Grand Caymans. Sounds like a fun cruise.

Fire ants.

I cleaned out the car yesterday. I pulled it up into the front yard so that I could reach the vacuum cleaner out the door to really get the interior looking nice. Well, apparently on our walkway a little fire ant family is growing. I was out in my bare feet (I still haven’t learned that I can’t do that down here!) and a fire ant got me. :( It felt a bit like a mild bee sting, and the after effects today are just like one. It’s all red and itchy. I don’t like fire ants. I read about them on wikipedia. Apparently they are not native to our country, but were actually imported by accident through a shipment of infested cargo from Brazil. I’d like to talk to the designated inspector of that cargo.

Grrr.

Yesterday an old man kept insisting that Kyrie looked like a boy, even after I told him that she was most definitely a girl. She was wearing a purple flowery outfit. I have to say, old men (and even some younger men) are so horrible at gender prediction with babies. Why is that? It doesn’t matter if they’re all decked out in pink & ruffles, wearing a “princess” bib and a couple bows or barrettes in whatever hair they’ve got. It just drives me crazy. I try to make it obvious – when I dress Kyrie in blue, I make sure it’s a dress and/or she’s wearing a barrette in her hair. I thought that’d help, but apparently it doesn’t. I guess I’ll just have to wait until she’s old enough for ponytails… THEN nobody better be asking me if she’s a girl or a boy! I think she looks quite feminine, really. sigh
