Kyrie is officially crawling

Kyrie is officially crawling everywhere. No scooting (until she gets where she thinks she’s close enough to grab whatever she’s going for).

D’Brickashaw Ferguson goes to the Jets

I was a little worried that after three years of despising Mr. Hollywood, Matt Leinart, the Jets would pick him. Instead they picked a New York native, an honor student who graduated a semester early (I didn’t think that was possible for a football player) in Religious studies, and a youth minister. Sweet.

Now that she’s moving around, she loves to explore all over the place (and under some things!):

Boring Stuff

Posted by Rachel in Kyrie, Miscellaneous, Home (Friday April 28, 2006 at 10:26 pm)

We went to see United 93 today. I was a bit disappointed. That’s all I’ll say, though. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone.

(Rick adds: Bring some dramamine if you are the type that gets motion sickness from home videos. The movie is 70 boring minutes followed by 20 intense minutes, but I nearly puked from the camera jiggling.)

After the movie, I really wanted a pop, so I went to get one from a vending machine outside of Wal-Mart. Stupid thing ate my quarter! I kicked a vending machine for the first time in my life. Then I went to the vending machine next to it (the upscale 50 cent one) and put in my money and then realized they were sold out of the kind I wanted. I kicked that one, too. No, I don’t usually have a temper. I just felt like kicking vending machines today. I settled for orange.

I dropped Rick off at home cuz he wanted to take a nap, and I took Kyrie to Wal-Mart (not the one with the vending machines) to do a little shopping. That was fun. I got myself a pair of comfy shorts to lounge around in (my favorite kind of clothing) and some veggies for our poor, nutrition lacking fridge. Tonight I’ll make BBQ chicken, corn on the cob, a fresh salad, and mashed potatoes. Yumness.

Oh, and yesterday I bought Kyrie two new cute new pairs of shorts and two matching shirts. The shirts are 12 month size and the shorts are 18 month (I was afraid nothing smaller would fit around her chubby thighs and big ol’ booty). She looks so adorable and ready for summer.

Now that she’s scooting all over the place, I’ve gotten to that “It’s too quiet” stage of motherhood. My mom would often use that phrase, and now I understand it. I was just thinking that Kyrie was awfully quiet and went out to the living room to see that she was chewing on the tassle of this banner I have hanging on the wall. It’s kind of hard to explain. But anyway, she’d gotten some of the strings off. I took it away and now she’s fussy.

Rachel: “Say, ‘mama.’”
Kyrie: “Papa”
Rachel: “This is a problem.”

Interesting facts

I was a bit surprised to find that we have already withdrawn 19% of our troops from Iraq and hope to withdraw another 19% by the end of the year. I wonder why I haven’t heard anything about it in the news. I wonder.

If you haven’t seen this, it’s really good (and endorsed by John Frame). Within the Bounds of Orthodoxy?

These may take awhile to load.

Kyrie scoot-crawling for a toy.

The lighting isn’t as good in the other two.

This one is Kyrie crawling. She doesn’t get very far. The youtube one may be faster, but it’s even darker..
