Kyrie got her third tooth today! It’s on the top, center left. The one right next to it is just beneath the surface.

She was exceedingly cute today. Not only is she walking everywhere, she tried to snap her fingers…it was adorable. She looked amused at me snapping mine, then put her thumb and middle finger together, perfectly poised to snap them, but couldn’t figure it out after that.

You’d think after 2 years of living here, I’d know what to expect when I come outside in the evening, but I’m still mentally in the Northwest. Yeah, I thought it would feel cool and refreshing and that the air would smell clean and crisp, but instead, I walked into the sauna of the night. That’s all right, though…I’m feeling much more content with my living situation than I think I have in a long time. I’m finally growing up and realizing that no matter where I live, I’ll have Rick and I’ll have Kyrie, and even if I feel displaced, God has a purpose for me and for our family here. Yes, I still hate roaches. And I still hate the heat. And it’s really difficult to live without any family (on either side) nearby. But we are still so blessed to be able to see them throughout the year.

I am a little sad that my baby is growing up and I almost want another…but then I freak out when I think of pregnancy and especially labor & delivery, and I wonder if I’ll ever be ready again. Not for several months…
