Nice

My home is clean, Kyrie is sitting on the couch coloring in her coloring book, and it’s only 75 degrees outside. And it’s cloudy (which I like), and not too muggy. Today is turning out to be even nicer than yesterday. I’m trying to ignore the fact that the forecast is predicting weather in the 90’s again in a few days. I’m just going to enjoy this and pretend that fall is really here to stay.

I would take Kyrie outside, but our backyard is totally infested with fire ants. She stepped on an ant hill the other day and her little feet got bitten up. I felt so bad. There’s nothing really to do outside, other than take a walk. And when I try to do that with her, she wants me to carry her. Silly girl. So I’ll just look out the window and think about how nice it is, and how the house is staying cooler and the AC isn’t overworking itself.

ETA: I couldn’t help it. The weather was beckoning me, and we went outside and Kyrie played in the dirt and rocks of our front yard (that’s basically all our front yard is). We also found chalk to draw on the sidewalk and collected leaves to do a little craft project with. So I guess with a little creativity, there really was something to do outside.

Is it ridiculous that I want hot cocoa because it’s in the 70’s?

UGH! When I wanted hot cocoa yesterday, you said it wasn’t cold enough!

  2. Rachel Says:

    It was too muggy.

70 degrees out and wanting …hot cocoa…I think they call that…..a pregnacy craving.

Weather shouldn’t dictate whether or not to have hot cocoa. Chocolate is ALWAYS appropriate.

    Hmm, what’s my excuse, mom?

Hey, fire ants have been a problem for us too. We found a great non-toxic killer, which is nice because it’s safe around little ones and pets. In fact, it can be used to combat fleas too. You can order it from Stevens Tractor at 1-800-333-9143. They are in LA so you might even get it the next day. I can’t find it on their web site, but that’s where we get it.

I posted a picture of the package on my blog if you wanted to take a look. I’m not sure how big that bag is…maybe 5 lb?, but I know you can get it in that amount, or smaller ones. It really is a great product. Hope you solve the fire ant problem!

    OK, I see that it’s a 2 lb bag.

Thanks for that info! I’ll have to look into it.

Hollie - you’re totally right. Did you ever read that study that says moms who eat chocolate during pregnancy have happier babies? I’m doing it for the sake of my unborn child…

I remember reading something like that. If it’s true then my babies must be the jolliest kids on the block.
