It’s funny, when I’m large and pregnant I can’t imagine for the life of me what it felt like to be skinny. And then when I’m skinny again I can’t remember for the life of me what it felt like to be 40 weeks pregnant.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I don’t remember what it’s like to not be pregnant. My pregnancies were pretty spaced, too, but I still feel like I’ve spent so much of my married life as a preggo. Once he’s out of me, I’m sure I’ll completely forget about it and then I’ll be crazy enough to do it all over again. LOL
Someone asked me (right after Lily was born) if it felt weird to go from being 40 weeks pregnant to not pregnant and so much smaller after the baby is born. I tried to explain that it just felt really good. At least for me I don’t really get used to my size when I’m pregnant because I grow so fast.
This picture would be even better if we could see the mama’s face.Heehee. I think you look pretty small. I bet he will only be a little larger then Kyrie. Which Kyrie was around the perfect size in my opinion.
Taneisha, I would have included my face except that I still had “morning face” and it wouldn’t have been pretty. LOL
I don’t think I look very big either, but it’s weird how people at the store look at me like I’m a ginormous whale about to explode. I think people just have no idea how big pregnant women really get!
Yep, only strangers start commenting on my size when I’m only 7 months along. It’s probably a compliment in a way because you are so small every where else. But I don’t think they realize what pregnancy looks like or something. I let someone feel Lily kick when I was eight months along (a girl that worked with Youssef at Starbucks back in the day) and she was surprised that my belly felt hard (rather than flabby) .., well hello, the baby is making me big, not flab. (I’m glad I can still fit in my coats so I haven’t gotten any comments from strangers yet.)
LOL, if those comments were really Rachel and you were referring to yourself in the third person!
Rachel, you look really good. I was hoping you’d post a picture like this! I’m sure you’re looking forward to having that little boy out of you though. Noelle was born at 40 weeks, 5 days…which for you would mean both your children would have birthdays on the 30th of a month! that’d be cool.
The boys are playing in their room right now, saying, “My firstborn baby! My firstborn baby!”
Ah, for some reason I kept thinking that she was born at 40w3d. I’ve been hoping for a Nov 30 baby, actually, since Kyrie was born on the 30th, which was also the last of the month, and it was also a Friday!
I said, “Kyrie was AROUND the perfect size, in my opinion”. Of course Antonio will be perfect too. I only guessed Antonio being a bit bigger because boys and second babys tend to be that way.
I am pretty sure Rick was just giving me a bad time. But, if you or Rick really were insulted, then I am really sorry!I didn’t mean anything bad or insulting by what I said. I think Kyrie was and is a doll and I am sure Antonio is going to be a perfect little bundle. I can’t wait to meet him.
You look so fit and well, Rachel! I never looked that good with any of mine! I think you are beautiful, and Antonio will be beautiful, too. (yes, baby boys can be beautiful!)

So you’re saying Antonio won’t be the perfect size? How insulting.

Don’t let her fool you. Her morning face is super cute.

Those last two comments were actually Rick, for anyone who may not have already figured it out.

Don’t worry, Rick was just being his usual, difficult self!
LOL
