Today we votePosted by Rachel on February 9th, 2008
I’ve never actually gone anywhere to vote before. I voted absentee in the last presidential election (was living in LA but was still a WA registered voter), and I’ve never cared enough about Louisiana’s local politics to vote for any of their elections, but today, I am happy to vote. There’s finally someone worth voting for. I know that people will say he’s not gonna win, but I don’t care. I’m going to vote for who I think would be a good president regardless of his chances. And if more people thought that way, maybe he’d have more of a chance.
Oh, and in case you didn’t know, I’m voting for Ron Paul.

Good for you.
As we walk the precinct for Dr. Paul, we hear a lot of people affirming all of his philosophies, liking his honesty, his record, but they like to vote for one of the others because they say “he can’t win.” It discourages.

Ugh! Very frustrating. It’s like a self-fulfilling prophecy. :/

Now that “McCain has the nomination sewn up” it is even more important to vote for Ron Paul (and to spread his ideas). The more delegates he brings to the convention, the harder it will be for the champions of the status quo to ignore his message. His supporters have already made huge inroads into changing the long-term projectory of the Republican party all over the country. The Ron Paul campaign has been the impetus for an unprecendented number of people standing up for constitutional, limited governemnt; sound money; just (non-preemptive) war and humble foreign policy; and against statism, but more still need to hear the message. Plant seeds.
(Oh, and I check in here every now and then and wouldn’t mind continuing to see and read about your cute kids. How do I get to do that?)
