I decided to branch out and get some diaper covers for Antonio. I just place a trifolded prefold in these and fasten them. It helps space out how often I need to do diaper laundry. And I got covers in primary colors. I overall prefer my BumGenius pocket diapers (can’t beat them when it comes to absorbancy), but I really like the brighter colors with these covers. Oh, by the way, they’re Thirsties covers. If you cloth diaper and have been thinking about trying them, just FYI, they run REALLY big. I ordered smalls and Antonio will definitely be wearing these for a long time.

I don’t know if you’ed be interested, but I just found out about infant potty training. This ladys baby was like two months old and she could hold her over a toilet and say her name adding “pee-pee” as the cue and the baby would go in the toilet! She took her every half hour or so and the baby would even hold it if she needed to go. I googled some info about how to teach them and I’m considaring doing it with Renna. If I don’t like it I can always just stop and put a diaper back on her.
Anyway, even if you just got to where you didn’t have to change pooey diapers it would be nice. Just thought you might be interested.

Those covers are really cute. I like the blue color with the white trim. Very stylish, Antonio!

Hehe, those covers remind me of little boy briefs.
My favourite are these. http://www.blueberrydiapers.com/products/Diaper_Covers/s_cloth_diaper_wrap

I like the look of those ones the best, but they’re expensive! Very cute, though.

We did infant potty training with our youngest. It worked. I was totally lax about it and still caught at least half her stuff in the potty. When she got mobile, she stopped signaling me, so we just did it once in the morning and once at night. At 18 months, she self-trained. It is great, and still effective even if you don’t work it too hard.
Rachel, do you like the Thirsties? Any further evaluation on them? I’m considering buying some extra smalls for the new baby, as I’ve heard great things about them for newborns, just wondered how you liked them (leakage, fit, in the wash etc.) for a bigger baby.

I like the Thirsties, but I almost wish I’d gotten extra-small even for Antonio at 14+ lbs (they seem to run large — one lady said that her 2.5 year old is still in a medium). I actually think the proraps give a better fit…but, the thirsties have cute colors which was a big selling point for me.
Also, they have laundry tabs, unlike the proraps, so that’s helpful. I think they’re pretty good at leakage protection. I don’t use them for overnight, but I haven’t had any leaks during the day with them.
