My injury prone child

Posted by Rick in Kyrie, Childrearing, Kyrie's injuries (Monday July 28, 2008 at 4:10 pm)

Kyrie has gotten so many head injuries this summer, it’s ridiculous. Fortunately, there’s been only one trip to Urgent Care (the time she fell at the park and cut her head open). Last night, she hit her head on the corner of a bathroom wall, producing a huge goose egg (though not the biggest of the summer). A little arnica and ice, and by morning, it was looking much better. Just a bit after I got up, Kyrie decided to jump on the bed with Noelle. Well, like the monkeys jumping on the bed, she received a head injury on the SAME SPOT. So that wasn’t pretty. Then, a bit after lunch, I received the news, “Kyrie was hit in the head with a metal pipe.”

*sigh* I think I might have to take up Rachel’s advice and put the kid in a helmet full-time.

AWW hit in the head with a metal pipe?! She really should wear a helmet… poor girl!

  2. Rachel Says:

Yeah, I’m seriously considering it…there are some cute helmets out there, right?

I think I just figured out how to make my thousands. I’ll design cute helmets for everyday wear for the accident-prone child. Sweet.

that sounds awful. please do something, i want her to live to see me again. :) last few times i saw her she was either too small, or too shy to talk to me, maybe this next time will be different.

    or design plastic bubbles.
    poor baby!

  6. Rick Says:

lol, I’m sure she’ll still be too shy the next time.

Just to clear up the metal pipe thing…it sounds worse than it actually is. The pipe is made of aluminum and is probably about as bad as a plastic pipe would be. Not to diminish the pathe’ of Kyrie’s injuries–I feel so bad for her poor head!

  8. Rachel Says:

Aluminum is a type of metal. ;) But yeah, it’s not like she was beaten over the head with it or anything, LOL! Just got a little welt & scratch. It’ll be good as new before we know it.
