Kyrie’s birthday is coming upPosted by Rachel on September 10th, 2008
It’s going to be a pretty big to-do, actually. We’re inviting a few friends and the family, of course, but the main attraction will be a bouncy castle with a slide. I never thought I’d do something so extravagant for my kid’s birthday, but the fact that she can finally spend a birthday with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins present calls for a bigger celebration. I have a few gift ideas for her, too, and I’m trying to keep things under splurge level. We’ll probably get her a bike for about $25-$30, I’ll buy some material at the fabric store to make her a baby doll carrier (probably around $10), we might buy a new baby doll ($5-$10), and then add a new outfit (she’s a girl; she loves clothes) and a storybook just to keep everything well-rounded. That sounds like an awful lot now that I’ve written it all out. And then of course I’ll make the annual trip to The Dollar Tree for party favors and decorations. I’m really hoping it’ll be a nice, sunny day. The party is in 17 days. Time to get those invitations sent out.
I can’t believe she is turning three. But at the same time, she makes it believable with all the big girl things she can do nowadays. In fact, she just changed Antonio’s diaper today, and did a great job of it, too. Sometimes I just sweep her up into my arms and ask her if she could please always be my baby, even though she’s growing up more and more every day.
