Kyrie (dressed as Cinderella): Esther, want to go watch Spartacus?
Kyrie quote of the day

Six Things I’m happy about
1. The fall leaves are all beautiful. I love driving around in town through the older neighborhoods. It looks radiant. And the bright colors are surrounding me right now at my parents’ home in the country. This is the first fall that I’ve spent in Washington since Rick proposed to me (and our 5 year anniversary for that is coming up!). Sigh. Autumn is a romantical season.
2. The election season will be over soon! This makes me happy. I’d really like to just know who our president will be (I already have a sneaking suspicion) and then move on with life, and I’m happy that this time is approaching quickly.
3. Taneisha will have her baby boy very soon! It makes me want to squeal with delight when I think of it. And the arrival of her little man will soon be followed by a new niece! These are indeed joyous times.
4. The chunk of hair that Kyrie cut is starting to grow and look more like bangs. I’m not a big fan of bangs, but they are better than a terribly short chunk that was quite obviously an accident.
5. The day that we move into our own house is approaching. We may not know the exact date, but we do know that every day brings us closer to it! (I feel like we’re waiting for a baby.)
6. It’s still legal to purchase and consume chocolate. I’m so thankful for this. I think I’ll have to take advantage of my freedom and maybe buy a candy bar.

To my Ron Paul friends
So some of my former Ron Paul friends have switched their vote to Bob Barr since he’s the libertarian candidate. I’m not really a libertarian. Ron Paul has endorsed Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution party. I don’t know much about Baldwin, but Constitution Party folks tend to annoy me. A vote for Ron Paul would not likely be counted here in WA. I can’t vote Republican or Democrat this term in good conscience…not that I wouldn’t normally do that. I am not one of those that says, “Vote your conscience.” It’s just that both tickets seem inept to me. So…my RonPaulblican friends…who are you going to vote for (especially those of you in WA). Paul? The guy Paul endorsed? The libertarian ticket?
Writing in Ron Paul in WA
So what happens if you write in Ron Paul for President in Washington state?
What it’s like to live in Spokane…
This page has the best, in-depth (and hilarious-because-its-so-true) description of Spokane that I think I’ve ever seen. I agree with 99.9% of it.

Snowing in October?
So my mom is already afraid she’s going to get snowed in here at Thanksgiving. And we had some flakes falling on Thursday. Not a good sign (though you still won’t get snowed in, mom). Of course, I’ve been told people have seen it snow here every month but July, but I keep trying to convince my mom it’s not that cold here. This doesn’t help.
I need to stop watching the debates
Last night I had a dream that I was arguing with someone (not sure who) about how McCain’s healthcare plan made more sense, because while Obama promised that he’d be able to reduce premiums by up to $2,500 a year, McCain is giving $5,000 refundable tax credits — at least double the savings of what Obama is promising.
Unfortunately I didn’t dream long enough to see how McCain’s plan was better for the uninsured. Maybe tomorrow night.
